"Protector of the forest" by Jens Vranckx

This carving is one of many which can be found all over the Norwoods. It resembles the protector of the forest, Frÿghl.

According to the folklore of the Mürnith tribe, these natural formed carvings scare of strangers who wander to far in the forest. It is said that these protectors are guarding something of great value and only the worthy one can go into the heart of the forest to claim what is rightfully his. There used to be a small town called Fínderas by the edge of the forest but in the events of the Great War the town was abandoned. The people went into the forest and were never seen again. Some believe that the Frÿghl have taken away this village, but less is known about these creatures as they were already here when humans entered Alveron and no one dares to enter the forest.
