Tag As FavoriteComment		an elven queen, raped by the lord of chaos and now with child, kneels down in the shallow waters of a stream deep in the wood and performs a cleansing ritual, in hopes of removing the evil taint from her unborn children. concept by wren (amira el-hanfy) for the santharian dream. done in painter 8 and it took a while. i really enjoyed the first version of this painting in no small part because of wren's teriffic, tragic concept. there were quite a few things in that version that just did not stand up too well to a closer look, though. i have learned a huge amount about painting since that version was completed, including how important a really strong background is. i just got tired of looking at the old one and wishing i had done some things differently, so i went ahead and did them!

It is very beautiful and a very beautiful concept. However... my only constructive criticism would be that her upper body is huge compared to her lower body.

It’s beautiful, but her pose is extremely stiff, maybe try your hand at figure drawing(loose sketches) for a while. That way your poses and therefore your paintings will become so much more expressive! Also her legs are a bit tiny compared to her torso...
