| 29 May 2002 | Sherry Lynn Thomas | Loading...I came back to see if you had anything else and I was very pleased that you are still at it. I love angels and I am glad your decided to do one with full size wings. As for her looking like she is on steriods, I would have to agree, but I do not know anything about carving so I would not know how to solve this for you. I know that the upper arms look a little bulky, but I am afraid if you try to take any off of the outside, it will take too much away from the shoulders. Is there anyway you can take it away from the inside? Anyway, I love this one very much. Good job. Theodore Roy Hellqvist replies: "Thanks Sherry. Actually, your suggestion helps quite a bit. Think maybe I was going at some of this the wrong way Ted" | |
| 3 Jul 2002 | Mai-Linh M. Nguyen | Loading...This is very nice! I have to say, I know absolutely nothing about carving, so I can't really tell you what you can do to fix it. What I CAN tell you is that the wings are very well done-there's a nice flowing shape to them. Theodore Roy Hellqvist replies: "Thanks for the visit Mai-Linh; Actually, any comment about how she or parts of her look to somebody else helps. I'm glad you like the wings. theyre what I was worried about when I started this project and now are the only thing thats working out as I'd hoped. But it's not really a case of fixing things as what to do from here. Hope you can post some more stuff soon as I'm interested to see where you'll go next T.T.F.N. Ted " | |
| 18 Aug 2002 | Laura Laurain | Loading...It looks so modern! Yet...Ancient in a sense. Wait. Stop. No! I can't..critique...@_@...*falls over* X_X Theodore Roy Hellqvist replies: "Thanks; She is now very much different. when I get completely finished I'll post a second pic of her. T" | |
| 3 May 2003 | S 'faething' VanDenEng | Loading...Yes, I agree with the above commentator that she does look somewhat like an ancient relic... almost like something from India... I do think you might want her arms a bit more thin... the shoulders less broad for that 'steroide' effect you want to avoid. As for myself... I don't do much carving, but I would take her into my PhotoImpact program and play with it there! Ack! Maybe I've over-dependant upon my computer, so don't take my comments to heart. | |
| 10 Dec 2003 | Denise 'Dee' Ertan | Loading...hello again, it's been some time.
mm the arms have a higher dimension than the bod.. if you look in an anatomy book you'll see that the pectoral muscles overlap the shoulders, sort of forming a triangle from about the tip of the nose down to just under the pecs.. that'sthe best wauy I can describe it. the top of the shoulders would have a more round contour, an indentation where a lady carries a purse .. I hope that made sense/helped.sorry it's latebut maybe it helps for future work | |
