"Plains Elf" by Harry Morris

My first attempt at digital painting with my shiny new Wacom tablet. Honestly, there's a lot wrong with this, and the technique was very time-consuming relative to the results. Still, it was nice to do something different, and it broke in the tablet, which I now have other plans for (see "griffon sketch" somewhere here). At some point I may upload the pencil sketch this was based on, but I'll have to scan it all over again...

Anyway, he is a plains-dwelling elf dressed in the traditional coloured silks and soft leather of his people. It's hard to see in this picture (the hair and face being the worst parts of all), but he has little side-burn-like tufts of hair at the corners of his jaw, a feature of elves in my fantasy world (because why not?).
