Sort of elemental horses. Lol, another example of how I used to draw. That horse on the right has one big butt. I liked the poses when I drew it. I still like 'Wind', he/she looks worried. Hah, I guess I like worried-looking horses - except when I'm riding! Wind has blue tones, Earth has red, and Sun has gold.

Done in graphite/prismacolor pencils sometimes late 2004/early 2005.

As a matter of fact...in my opinion, this is your most anatomically correct piece. No offence, but your equines tend to be rather...top-heavy. The head and neck are too muscular and large to be supported by the short legs. The shading and muscle systems are beautifully done, though. Two thumbs up, and try to make the hindquarters balance out the front end. Adieu!

:-) A. Thomason replies: "Thank you for commenting. I tend to make quite a few of my horses, as you put it, 'top heavy'. Often I notice more detail in the front than the back, so the front can be more muscled. That being said, these girls do have very large, quarter-horse-ish rumps, which I don't usually draw. Thanks again 2"

Could you do some prints of this one so I could buy one!
Where's Water?
I like the one right behind the front one looking right at you.
Wind looks distracted.

62 A. Thomason replies: "Lol I'm glad you like it so much 2 Eventually I may get prints made, that would be fun. I wasn't thinking of water at the time that I was drawing this. Wind does look distracted, maybe a bit 'flustered' 10 Thanks for the comments!"

62 A. Thomason replies: "Thanks! I love the buckskin and bay markings, especially when the black contrasts so nicely 2 "

You draw sooo well; I LOVE IT. Big horsie fan - and I lovr it when an artist portrays a horse as it should be- wild, free, and graceful. And you’ve done just that. By the way - have you considered writing a story about them?

:-) A. Thomason replies: "Thank you very much 1 Oh, I write a lot... just haven’t decided if it’s any good ^^ I tried to upload a story recently but I have to re-do it before it will be accepted. Perhaps I can clean-up another short story to put up 1"

You are so awesome!! And remember even if they are "top heavy" it’s all good! Lol i had a paint horse who was and when she held her head high, she looked like she was going downhill. it looked prettycool when i drew her that way.... You should try it!!
