| 24 Oct 2004 | Lucas M. Cheek | Loading...ARRGH! if ur using 3ds MAX, youre totally underusing its all-powerful materials creator! while your models are quite nice, they would completely benefit from reflective textures, specular effects, bump mapping, and all the stuff that make 3d modeling look completely awsome! of course, im not entirely sure WHAT youre using, so if it something that doesnt have these features, more power to you for making the best of a bad situation. However, if you are using one of the higher end programs, like lightwave, 3ds Max, or even Maya(my personal favorite,) spend that extra time to make your models all they can be. Toodles! Søren 'Thrawn' Ekelund replies: "Sorry that I don't have the commitment to delve into the finer aspects of 3ds max, but I'm usually cutting and twisting the polygon structures, making them hard to texture. And for that end it would take hours for my lousy PC to render the stuff. A picture already takes 'bout a minute!" | |
