| 16 Oct 2003 |  Steve Elliott | Loading... I noticed your question re: scanning pencil drawings. You are right, they are very hard to capture. Here is a tip that might help: Contrast is important, so if you original is not on an opaque medium try placing a sheet of black paper behind your drawing before you scan it. This trick works very well to eliminate backside images, and it might help your scans. You can also make a "dark" scan and then use your image processing software to adjust the contrast. Use the histogram function to broaden the contrast range of you image and compress the white & black ranges. Go for a flat/low contrast in the mid tones where your pencil has the most data. | |
