I absolutely love your Aviarii elves! They're so great and so DETAILED!! I have no patience for detail. ^_^ I'm trying, but halfway through the pic I get bored and start drawing something else. I so love your faces, and that's something I need to work on. Any advice?

^_^

:-) Tiffanie L. Gray replies: "Well, for faces, its important to watch your proportions, when one feature isn't even or is misplaced, then the whole thing is off. Look at magazine pictures, measure how far it is between eyes, from eyes to nose, nose to chin, etc. Then Practice, practice, practice! Good luck!"

I noticed your question re: scanning pencil drawings. You are right, they are very hard to capture. Here is a tip that might help: Contrast is important, so if you original is not on an opaque medium try placing a sheet of black paper behind your drawing before you scan it. This trick works very well to eliminate backside images, and it might help your scans. You can also make a "dark" scan and then use your image processing software to adjust the contrast. Use the histogram function to broaden the contrast range of you image and compress the white & black ranges. Go for a flat/low contrast in the mid tones where your pencil has the most data.

Hey Tiffanie,

My name is Daxton, I talked to you daughter earlier today, and I am fascinated by how much we are alike, what with collecting swords, loving fantasy, and all that, I'm also amazed that my name apparently appears alot in your D&D accounts. Well, I love the drawings, they are amazing.

Sincerely,

Daxton
