Foreshortening you have down exceptionally well, shading and highlights you don't seem to need any help at all with. You weakness seems to be your familiarity with the human figure. This lil' guys legs seem to be much too straight, you need to round them some, and give them some muscle groups in the calves. Don't forget ankles, they are very important to making a leg look correct. The same advice goes for his arms and hands. Be careful with the fingers, though, they aren't just sausages on his hand, they need to have some clear definition. Perhaps a narrower tip on your pen, or a harder led in your pencil will make it easier to add that definition. Very nice wings, I like those alot. And as I started with, please don't think I'm ripping you up, you have a LOT of skill, it just looks like this is a new area for you. Keep it up, you're doing great! Maren I. *May* Zielke replies: "I really hope they can be! As you said, I have problems with the human figure (well, not if i'd arranged all my characters standing straight ;-) ). I'm working on it and hope it will become better soon. Thanx" | |
