This was a model designed for a TV pilot. I had one night to make it and paint it. The idea was that these demons would come up out of the ground. I designed an eye-less demon with that in mind. Unfortunately for me, the show was canceled before I got to make the actual costumes. (Well, maybe fortunately, it was a TERRIBLE script ;-)

Wicked! This is really very cool. OH the scrariness! One of my brothers keeps trying to get me to do scary sculptures, I haven't tried it yet (I like making cutsie ones). You did an excellent job, the detail is great. What did you use to make him? He looks very marbly, like veins showing through his skin, was that something you painted on or was it the effect of your medium? All the same, great work! ~*~Megg~*~

:-) Tim Baker replies: "He's made from super sculpy over a foil armature. I painted him in layers. "

Did you paint it layer by layer to get the effect of blood veins beneath the skin?I did, I started with the veins and muscles, then painted alchohol washes (latex paint mixed with alchohol to thin it down) over that to build up the skin color. I like to build up a lot of tonal variations that way.

This is amazing. If they sold a miniature game with figures like this I buy it right away.

*bursts out laughing* I can't imagine putting so much thought into something KNOWING that it 1. started from someone else's idea and 2. that the idea is terrible! HAHAHAHA! That is so funny. ^_^;;

*cough* Well, now, on to the real comment . . .

CREEPY. Not the best thing I've seen from you, but I think your extremely limited time can explain that. I can see how much work went into building this guy - I too, love the "paint job". I'm a little bothered by the smooth pate, though - the lack of features is perfect, the mouth most excellent (is thinking of evil worms), but it seems . . . too soft? I think that's what I want to say. If these ugly critters DO come up from the ground, mightn't they have more horny growths on top of that unprotected head?

Maybe not. That was just my impression!

*looks again*

Wow. That really is great work, Tim!

The show might have had a lousy script- but it would have had neat-looking eyeless demon things!

looks lil like that one monster creature from the movie Resident evil.......cool though 2

That is so COOL! I've alway had a love of demons. They're so much cooler than Angels!
