I DO like this one. It's a quickie? *SNICKER* It's rare that you don't have backgrounds, isn't it? Give this sucker a background, Tim! It's worth it! I adore the strap you have winding down the sheath, and I even like the elegance of the handguard. Since the blade is so straight, the "extraneous" is okay IMO. Once more, I am struck by your color scheme - the gold in this piece is much lighter, fitting the thin quality of the weapon, and that it is at both ends really draws attention to the scabbard itself. And, like your other commentors, I also like the blue gems (though I'm partial to sapphires, yay Libra, I would think they would shine more).
I don't really have any criticism for this one. That glaring white is forgiven because of your own comment. ^_~
