SCan a picture, smudge it to your liking, and compare. Its really quite surprising. As for the pic, its groovy. I defintely really likethe shading, and the fact that his arm is falling off. I'm an artist myself, in both drawing and writing. I have a hard time making my guys look like... guys.
Oh, and I think that the title "Elven Healer" would be a good title. Good luck on other pictures!
