This is for www.therjackbull.deviantart.com 's contest. You had to draw up designs/concepts for her book chars...you could draw one or more pics.. And I am, But I put the most effort into this one.

Fawn is kneeling on the edge of a castle wall over looking a battle field, cracks and blood stains mar the wall top and sides. Smoke billows up from the battle field below. (I made up the paint on her face... I was inspired by the move King Arthur where they had war paint on their faces. And she is looking up at the sky and raiseing her eyebrow... In case the expression wasn't clear)

Prismas on 8 x 11 1/2 paper and the bow string was done with a white fine point pen and a little bit of black watercolor to dull it down. No photo ref used. Took about 9 to 10 hours to do... that was with school getting in the way all the time...

I love your work with prismas. Beautiful colour, and wonderful drawing. The only thing I can see with this is the neck is a little long, but that was probably intentional judging from her name. Beautiful work, and lovely image!

Wow, this is beautiful! The colours have great texture to them, and that pose is so difficult! Great job.

Congrats on getting Mod's Choice too! 1

That is absolutely gorgeous. I love the way you use colours, and the pose is awesome.

As the previous commenters have mentioned, her neck looks a bit long, but I don't think it looks *wrong*, I think it adds to her grace.

Congrats on a well-deserved mod's choice!

Hi like the pic...And i agree her neck seems a little long, maybe its just the odd angle too but it looks like it's been broken, the colorings awesome though great job..

The neck just looks a bit wierd and long because thereīs hair in front of it. If the pony tail hadnīt been there, the neck would look normal. Difficult things to draw, since pictures often donīt come with a 3D effect, like the real world does..

Her neck isn't exactly long ... it's just kind of curved at the back. And I agree with another person who said her expression was 'odd' ... her face looks almost cat-like ...

But other than that, it really is a beautiful pic 2 congrats on Mods 2

Awesome, but her hands are too small, and I agree that the neck is a little too long. It's awesome, and congrats on getting mod's choice!!! *big grin*

It's a stunning pic! But the position of her neck and her expression is bit...weird though. Aside that, it's so wonderfully well done that I'll probably faint here right now. *faint*

*raises a little white flags saying...* Congrats on mod's choice!!!

I think the face is wonderful, it looks as if she's run away from someone firing at her and jumped, and she's looking back to see if they're coming, it's very well done.

It is not the neck, it is the head. The neck flows from the top of the back OK. The head looks like it was detached from the neck, turned 90 degress, then reattached to the neck.

For a person to turn their head like that would require the neck to be pulled back towards the shoulders and the upper body more erect.
