SciFi and Fantasy Art Sleipnir Saddled Colored by Rashel "Freha" Titus

~One of Odin’s greatest treasures was his gray eight-footed steed, Sleipnir, which could run over earth, air, sea and had the ability to travel through the underworld. His eight legs represented the eight winds. And was shod with lightning.~
This is my second attempt at Sleipnir. He is saddled and awaiting his master. In his main and tail are two feathers from both ravens, Hugin (thought) and Munin (memory). Now in color!

26 Mar 2004	Mozdoc	Loading... WHOA THIS IS SO COOL! I've seen a LOT of Sleipnirs before in Elfwood but this one DEFINATELY just tops 'em all. You've done such an awesome coloring job this Sleipnir looks real. I especially love the detail of the hooves being shod in lightening, I've never seen that done and it truely ROCKS! If you can add more details like the runes mentioned in the previous comment this picture is really just going to be hard to match, it is such a shame you missed Moderator's Choice with this... 26 Mar 2004		Loading... This is a great picture, and I really like norse mythology, I'm even thinking about converting. There are a few things bugging me about the picture though: The hind legs look kind of wierd, either it looks like the two right hind legs are from another horse, or the rear hind legs ar coming out of a certain hole in its body. Also it would have been real neat with some ancient runes embedded in the saddle. Anyway, its a really good picture, keep it up. Rashel "Freha" Titus replies: "The reson why the two legs seem to be detached is b/c I had done almost all of the pic and then stopped for a long time. When I came back to finish this my style had changed quite a bit, and I had to try and "force" the remaining two legs to fit in with the rest of the pic. And this was the best I could get them to fit. Just blame it on the lighting ;P The runes would look spiffy, but I'm to pleased/lazy with this pic to change anthing more. ^__^"

25 Jan 2005	Norwegian Girl	Loading... nice pic.but I'm going to point out three things you got wrong. 1.It's real (norwegian) name is "Sleipne" or as most say it "Sleipner". 2.It's supposed to be black. 3.At the time and place Sleipne is 'from',people did'nt use saddle. I know this because I'm norwegian(norsk). And it isn't meant to critizise the picture, I'm just saying it so you know.
