I just have to say, I've recently been thrown into 3d computer rendering (mostly architecture stuff, none of it up yet because it's so bad) and I am VERY impressed with the textures you've gotten. You're stuff doesn't have that plastic quality that is seen in so many other pics. And you integrate it very well with the backgrounds... care to share your secrets? 12

:-) Tero Niemi replies: "Um... I could write a long article about both subjects... Shortly11n realistic images textures are more important than the form. Spend some time with them. Examine real life references and use multiple layers. And the background goes always first when matching the image to the background (especially when using a photo as the bg.) Experimenting is the key. And having fun. Put a UFO over your hometown or add something to your family photo."

I love your stuff. I'll bet you'll be doing concept art for the next Big Budget Sci-Fi that will shadow the Matrix and Star Wars!! Keepitup.

I don't know which to comment on, so I'll leave one here. These are jaw-droppingly good! What is the learning-curve like for Lightwave? I was given an old version but never installed it due to hardware limitations. You have inspired me to install and experiment.

:-) Tero Niemi replies: "Learning curve is a bit long. (A couple of years...) For most of these images I used a really old version myself (5.6) and the hardware was a really old too (a 200Mhz pentium clone).Remember: the textures are important, and the sky."

And here I am who almost never find rendered 3d pics as lovely as the painted ones, but I find yours great. You have a great sense of architecture and lighting, but I'd say the ones that really catch my eye are the ones with people living in the environments. You get a completely different sense of massive scale there. Good work overall 2

This is one of the best galleries ive seen on elfwood. It's very rare i see a 3d artist on elfwood that has work as good as this. I hope you can stop by my gallery and give me pointers.
