| 15 Jul 2007 | Cynthia Conner | Loading...woah! This is beautiful! Of course, so is everything else you do, so hey. But still! The horse's coloring is lovely, and the hawk wings are so natural-looking, I hardly even thought to notice that they're a deviation from the norm. They look as though they simply /are/ the norm! It's the sky, though, that gets me. So dynamic and volatile and breath-taking! My only bit of constructive criticism is that the head and neck seem to be too big for the hind legs. Of course, since you used a mannequin, I don't think I'll blame it on you ^___^ Overall, I'm insanely jealous of the little girl you got this picture. Tony Orzech replies: "Thanks for all the comments, Cynthia. And I will keep your comment about the proportions in mind the next time I do any horse-like creature. ;-)" | |
| 7 Aug 2007 | Laura Soret | Loading...*droooool* oh the pretty colors... The wings are fantabulous. Reference? They suit the horse perfectly! And the colors, gaaa... I totally love the background clouds, but there´s some not that convincing about the one in the pegasus´s plane... Like they don´t match the background. But hey, still looking as great as it can look!!! *clap* Tony Orzech replies: "Hi Laura!Nice to see you are still working your way through my gallery. The foreground cloud was done with an airbrush to give a light, wispy look. It has always amazed me how clouds can look so solid from a distance and yet they are a misty mass from up close and look nothing like they did from a distance. This was an experiment and I do not recommend pushing oil paint through an airbrush. If I did this piece again, I would stick to a brush. This entire piece was an experiment and a study I did over 20 years ago. A fun piece to do Good observation by the way ;-)" | |
| 20 Nov 2007 | A. Thomason | Loading...O.O Those wings are absolutely amazing... the coloring, the pattern, the shadows... and then the clouds are outstanding as well.... wow. Tony Orzech replies: "Thanks for taking the time to stop by and comment." | |

| 2 Jan 2008 | Jenna 'Kaikisuka' Linn Barton | Loading...Beautiful. You have a lucky niece/grand-neice (?). GORGEOUS PEGASUS. And those wings...remind me a bit of those owl wings that you sent me (speaking of which, I'm thinking of doing a picture with those wings for models...). The clouds are gorgeous, and the horse seems right at home soaring among them. Tony Orzech replies: "Thanks Jenna! My grand-niece is completely into horses. I hope you get some use out of the references I sent. I look forward to seeing what you come up with. I had a real owl's wing as a reference when I did this one, but I used a wooden, horse mannequin for the pose." | |
