| 8 Jun 2006 | Freyja M. Stokes | Loading...Ooo! Dragons! Look, there's DRAGONS!! *coughs embarrassedly* sorry about that, I get a little carried away. Anyway, I adore this picture, and am reallt impressed with the mood and composition in this picture... it somehow looks all so natural. One day I swear I will learn to draw properly! Tony Orzech replies: "Hi Freyja! Being an art student with an interest in fashion design, I'm sure you will have the opportunity to do life drawing and learn even more about proportions of the human form. You may also find that the use of photo references will help you with foreshortening, perspective, and proportions. Even PRACTICING tracing over pictures can help you learn to see what you may otherwise miss. Good luck, have fun and thanks for the comment. And one day I too will learn to swear properly... or should that be swear to learn? ;-) " | |
| 16 Jun 2006 | David A. Castagna | Loading...Very nice piece. This is a really effective fusion of several different genres and styles (sci-fi, fantasy, landscapes, portrait, etc.). I really like it and I wish more artists would do pieces like this. Well done! (I am an elfwood artist but because of some technical problem I can't represent myself as such.) Tony Orzech replies: "Thanks David! If more artists do, I may have to figure out something else to do;-) but until they do I guess I"ll have to. thanks for visiting and come back again. I will try to keep an eye out for your gallery." | |
| 19 Sep 2006 | Karu Hernandez | Loading...OH MY DEAR GOD!! Color pencils... is really incredible, I really feel that I can even touch the dragons *U* This is my second favorite... or my second first favorite D Tony Orzech replies: "You make me smile Karla. Thank You!" | |
| 18 Jan 2007 | Aurrie | Loading...Oh my goodness! This is awesome; I think it's my favorite from your gallery so far. I love the the woman and her general atmosphere, the foliage looks great and the dragons are adorable..then I noticed the machine in the background which took me by surprise even after reading the description-- what a cool contrast! The dragon rolling over on the right reminds me of my little dog. Heh. Tony Orzech replies: "Thanks, again, Aurrie. This was done as a portrait of a friend of mine from years ago. Her farvorite color is green and she likes dragons. The Sci-fi twist was because the only photo I had of her was with those dark sunglasses. " | |
| 2 Jan 2008 | Jenna 'Kaikisuka' Linn Barton | Loading...Her wardrobe is great!! I think I should have that outfit. Beautiful picture, her craft in the BG gives the feel that she's a traveller, taking some down time with the little dragons. Speaking of which, the ones rolling on the ground is precious. I'll bet there's no better stress-relief than tummy-rubbin' a dragon... Tony Orzech replies: "I'll see if I can talk her out of it for you. No No! wait, I mean, I'll see if she knows where you can find one like it. Ya, thats it ;-)" | |
| 1 Nov 2008 | Anon. | Loading...so i definitely love the john lennon sunglasses. | |
| 23 Oct 2009 | Tom Draco Noir Taylor | Loading...She looks like she is having such a good time with those friendly little dragons! I want to book a flight there for vacation with my wife Lynn! We live in Arizona and she and I just love the lizards( dragon cousins, certainly!) She would find this the perfect planet . Tony Orzech replies: "There may be a flight out around the Holidays. Better book your place quick, these seats fill up fast. " | |
| 23 Oct 2009 | Jonas Kupe | Loading...its made with colored pencils?! how did you do that, how did you made it so detailed?! Tony Orzech replies: "I use the soft, artist grade Prismacolor, 120 color set of pencils. The softer pencils are more wax and can blend together, unlike the hard style color pencils. Also, the more colors the better the color blending. And I keep a sharpener handy It looks like you use the hard pencils and limited colors. Thats much more difficult. It also helps that I have 40 years of drawing and painting practice Keep working on it, you will get there too Jonas " | |
