| 5 Oct 2007 | Therese L. Davis | Loading...This one really stands out in your gallery...the colors are so vibrant and it almost has a scifi theme to it. I love the planets' details. You are so good at backgrounds...that is my weakest point. I really need to focus more attention to that. The statue really stands out...my eye was instantly drawn to it...due to its shine...which is good because it is a focal point of the picture. Nice work. Tony Orzech replies: "Thanks Therese! The reason this piece "almost has a Sci-Fi theme to it" is because the thief with the statue is piloting a glider and the planet just happens to have 3 moons. I think we can safely say that this IS a Sci-Fi theme ;-).Hay, your not alone on the background issue. Almost everyone in Elfwood has the same issue. Thanks for another nice comment and start doing some drawing studies of landscapes and all of those things that make up landscapes. You know.... like different rocks and rock formations, the multitude of trees that make up a forest as well as individual species, and clouds..... all those different shapes and sizes of clouds. Backgrounds as well as foregrounds are just as important as a character and need to be given as much thought and care when being drawn. Learn the look of the real object then stylize it to fit your artistic look." | |
| 10 Nov 2008 | Caboose Layla Wolfe | Loading...Wow. Just wow. This is ahmazing. The big building in the background gives the impression that she stole it and escaped and the sun rose in the blink of an eye. I love harpies ^_^ Tony Orzech replies: "Her timing was a bit off. She did steal their statue which has some importance to them, and I guess they could be classified as a type of harpy. Although, these are much more civilized winged folk ;-) Thanks for another comment, miss Wolfe." | |
