| 20 May 2006 | Hope | Loading...Wow...this is really....weird.... I'm sorry, I do not mean that in a bad way. Not at all! It's just....on Elfwood, you see a lot of different interpretations of different creatures (elves, fairies, gryphons, etc.) and occasionally some unique ones---these usually consist of combining known creatures (wolf/horse, tiger/fish, etc.) But truly truly original creatures? I don't think I've ever seen one. It doesn't seem like you have based this cliff climber on any existing animal (none I've seen, anyway) and I think that is AWESOME. Congratulations! Something truly original. I rarely leave comments. But I had to (ESPECIALLY when I saw there were none!) Tony Orzech replies: "Thank You Hope! I did ,however, combine human, reptile, horse and boar and a touch of dinosaur too. Your comment is appreciated, thanks again!" | |
| 24 May 2006 | Rochelle Green | Loading...I really like your palette here, I think it contributes to the very epic feel of the piece. Awesome background!! The figure seems to get a little bit lost though Or maybe I'm just too focused on that AWESOME BACKGROUND! Tony Orzech replies: "Thank You Rochelle! I like to sometimes make the characters more a part of their environment so the viewer is emersed more into the 'world' and not forced to focus on just the main character(s). In this case you can see how the mount would blend into its natural environment. It can blend into the sky as it glides and blend into the rocks as it climes. I also mixed some yellow ochre into every color I used on this piece. I find that taking one color and adding a small amount to every color (even white & black) pulls the image together nicely. The color I use depends on the subject and the mood I want to convey." | |
