| 6 Jun 2006 | Carmen Janine Ryan | Loading...he he, I love 'playful banter' it's so much fun! Hooray for banter! *gives banter a cookie* ... *offers merfolk a cookie?* Hrm...would a cookie hurt merfolk do you think? my fish eat cookies and don't get sick ^.^ ...eeeeeew, soggy cookies Tony Orzech replies: "Merfolk love cookies! Such a delicacy. Just not under the water (like you so accurately said ...eeeeeew, soggy). But, to give them one, the situation needs to be just right because they won't make plans to meet people... a bit leery of being set up and all, you know, photos, gawking crowds, fishing nets.... And they refuse to act like those showoff dolphins (anything for an easy fish or a pat on the head). So you should always keep an extra cookie handy whenever you are alone by the ocean. Chocolate chip is the best and they can smell them on the salty breeze from a long ways away. They will almost always know you are there before you can see them, but if they sense you are friendly, happy and honest and you have cookies in hand, they may be tempted to join you on the rocks or the sand and offer to play for a very short time, as you choose, in the water or on land. Good luck! ;-) " | |
| 25 Jun 2006 | Sarah Troyer | Loading...I like this piece quite a lot. The colors and figures are amazing. All of your pieces make me look and think "Now why can't I do that?!" Tony Orzech replies: "Hi Sarah! Thank You for checking out my gallery. I think you can do "that" too. From what little I have seen of your art I think you have a good base to work from. Let me know if I can be of any assistance." | |
| 26 Jun 2006 | Sarah Troyer | Loading...Well if you can help me be able to do that I will be eternally in your debt. Tony Orzech replies: "Sounds like a challenge ;-)? That's a sweet sentiment, but eternity is an awful long time to be indebted to someone. Especially when you are the one who has to do all the work . " | |

Excellent, top notch stuff!!
| 9 Mar 2008 | Megan G. Firestone | Loading...Wow gouache?
gouache doesn’t agree with me!
This is great! Tony Orzech replies: "Yes, it is a fragile and tricky medium to use. Thanks for the comment Megan."
| 15 Jul 2008 | Curtis R. Macdonald | Loading...Very well done. I think your mission on cool and warm colours succeeded. The yellow/greens really jump out at you and the blues really help the contrast. everything is very pleasing to he eye and the idea is also very cool. P.s I also like how you didnt jump stright to red and orange when given the order to have warm colours, this was a very original choice in colour. and at the same time not going too crazy with the cool colour portion and keeping it a basic blue instead of lets say a dark teal or something, it adds balance. wicked job! Tony Orzech replies: "I just noticed your comment Curtis, sorry for the late response. Good observation. Now let me see what you can do for this assignment Thanks for the comment." | |
| 28 Dec 2008 | Sherri L. White | Loading...Well...the female fish release eggs then the male fish release their ...part ...then eventually ...baby fish ... Fish sex ...sorry...just playing with you ! Seriously well done !!! Tony Orzech replies: "Ha! ha! Now you know why I said that they are not having sex. No egg clusters, no male ’release’, no sex Thanks for the playful comment Sherri." | |
| 15 Feb 2009 | Koi | Loading...um merfolk aren’t fish they’re mammals and they are half human half dolphin Tony Orzech replies: "These Merfolk never need to come to the surface to breath. They live their lives under the water. Which would make them more fish and not mammal and they are not part human, they only have a human-like appearance. Now if you want to draw your imaginary Merfolk using part dolphin and part human (which I have seen done before) then feel free to go for it. Besides, there are as many different kinds of merfolk as there are individuals who imagine and create them. " | |

| 23 Oct 2009 | Tom Draco Noir Taylor | Loading...Excellent work!Such a romantic painting- and in gouache, no less- impossible stuff to work with! So much so I believe it should be pronounced Goo-ACHE! Kinda like tooth-ache. But you have mastered it quite well. And I am throwing your merfolk several cans of sardines, anchovies and kippered herring. Hope they like them! Tony Orzech replies: "It is a challenging medium. I don’t use it any more. Very fragile finish. Thanks for the snacks! " | |
