Tag As FavoriteComment		This piece seriously kicked my butt. I've been working on it for at least a month off and on, and I decided this morning to actually sit down and finish it.

This started as a profile study. I'm horrific at profiles, so I sat down determined to do one that didn't look like it should be painted on an egyptian tomb or something (I had eye problems). I think I finally broke my profile block, though. All comments/critiques are most welcome!

actually I know someone who looks a lot like this, so obviously the profile isn't too unrealistic ;o) I think the best idea would just be to expiriment with lots of different facial shapes...you'll get a feel for all the different ones out there!

I like this...it's pretty in its simplicity 19) The colors in the wings are lovely! in fact, the colors everywhere are lovely...all the sort of earthy tones are great for autumn! 19)

I love to do the different nuances of facial expression - the last one I worked on was the cheesy grin for my website (satyr's grin...lol), and that was loads of fun... "

I love this pic!!! its so beautiful! I really love the border and the hair and the colors you put on her wings. The only thing I think you could improve would be it looks like she's got only one wing. You can't see a wing from the other shoulder. Other than that... It's GREAT!!!!!

I love the hair ornament and the eye is exquisite. Sadly, the bulging forehead takes away from the inherent delicacy of the picture. It's not bad, just different. That's good though.

Beautiful shading. I love the way it's muted. It almost looks like oil pastels. I really like the framing as well.

:-) Sarah Trumpp replies: "Thanks so much, Lauren! That's probably the best compliment I've gotten - I try really hard to make my digital stuff not look so typically digital (I love painter *hugs*), so saying that it looks almost like pastels makes me all warm and fuzzy. hehehe"

Beautiful colors you used here. Her wings look almost like some old carnival glass we have. By the way, i thought she had plenty of "brain space" at the back of her head. Her forehead is a little rounded, but so is my cousins, hehe. Shes gorgeous!
