| 21 Apr 2002 | Rachael Mayo | Loading...Oh my, will you look at that face... And those eyes... LOVELY! Such life! Jess, it looks like you've gone to a lot of trouble on this piece. Each and every feather is detailed to the Nth degree, giving your featherhead a distincly tiger-hawkish appearance that is just KEEN! I'd be just a little bit concerned about the light source; you've hinted at it effectively on the wings, butu it's not entirely clear on the gryph's body. Each feather has shading, but it's a little difficult to read "volume" into the total beastie. I don't think it ends up being a great detraction, however; all told, this is one of your best pieces here for sheer, mind-numbing detail! Bravo and encore, definitely! Oh, and maybe bigger paws. That is all. ;-) | |
