Oh this is wonderful! Just keep working in that direction and you'll be even better an artist than you ever dreamed of..!!

Yeah, I think yer people are right. You've not only discovered light, but color arrangement as well. You've created a most pleasing analagous scheme with this dragon, what with the blue-violet-red violet tones. Now, here's the kicker: Your shading is great; you're developing a good feel for 3-D representation on a 2-D plane. But instead of shading with black or with simply a darker version of the same color as is there already (like using blackened red for the shadows on the body), try shading with deep blue violet. Then do some highlighting with orange! Then people will accuse you of using psychotropic drugs... But we will know the truth. You're merely a Really Fine Artist! Hee hee!
