First off, I'm sorry about the quality of this piece. I didn't have enough time to take it to Kinko's to get it scanned because it was too big to fit in my scanner. So I had to take a picture of it with my digital camera. This is a picture done for a good friend of mine. She wanted me to draw a picture of her son Alex as a warrior because he saw some of my other work and wished he had muscles like that. So I put this one together for him using his head and a warrior's body. I think it turned out pretty cool. Happy 9th birthday Alex!!! Done with pencil, tell me what you think!!

*first comment dance* This picture is great! The only thing I see that is off is the arm....seems a little big. But I love how you did the clothes! The shading makes It look so real! The sword is awesome too, wish I could do that!

Yeah, new piccie! Cool, nice concept. I don't think the arm is out of proportion..of course the head is out of proportion if you see the rest of the body, but that was the idea, right! Great!

:-) Nathan Alexander Tumulty replies: "Thank you dear, and yes his head is supposed to be a little big. 1"

Ha, that's really cool. About the proportions: they're off but hell, what would you think with such a head. 12 I really like the concept. I bet Alex really loved this (I would)

=3

:-) Nathan Alexander Tumulty replies: "Jorieke!!!! How wonderful it is to hear from you!!! I thought you fell off the face of the Earth..."

that's disturbing......a child's proportions are different than those of an adult..a child's head is much larger in comparison to his body......this is really strange in your drawing because a body builder's bulky sized muscles throw his proportion slightly off as well. A huge bulky guy's head is small in comparison to his body. The proportions of this figure disagree. Plus, the creepily childish expression and direct gaze makes is all that much bizarre.

whatte ... just notested the face, smily boy XD (whit sword???) where the hec this world is going

To rachel: the disproportions are the whole point of the picture. The boy wanted to see what he'd look like with a huge muscular warrior body. If the body's proportions were like an actual 9 year-old boy's, THAT would be seriously disturbing, because it'd be like those poor preteen kids whose parents make them bodybuild just to get in the Guinness Book of World Records. They look so unhealthy and unnatural. This setup makes the joke clear. A boy's head on Conan the Barbarian's body (more or less!). I'D sure say it's an awesome gift! The shading and musculature are perfect, and that's a really cool sword. Way to go, Nathan.
