An illustration for one of my sister's stories, concerning and young woman who has magical healing abilities that haven't manifested in anyone else in a looong time.  She is sent to serve a military outpost on the Borderlands, a place considerably wilder and more frightening than the healing Sanctuary where she was raised.

This was an experimentation with watercolor and ink, and a kind of disastrously altered sky >_<  But I'm happy with the hair.

Beautiful piece this one, the healer came out really pretty and the combination of the wind in her hair and in her dress sure contributes to the general atmosphere of your piece. very impressive use of water colors!
