SciFi and Fantasy Art Cathbad and Hendrix by Ursula Vernon

Been mucking aroung, trying to merge the hard lines of Art Nouveau with my own particular brand of realism, and figured I might as well paint a buff male since how often do I do THAT?...Cathbad the armadillo here, and his vulture buddy Hendrix were the latest experiment. (For the record, I have no idea why they're named that--sometimes the figures in my paintings tell me their names, sometimes they don't. God, that sounds corny.) While I really feel that this needs some kind of background, I can't think of one, and suggestions are gladly accepted.

This is a cool picture and if you want to put in a background I agree with everyone that it should of course be a desert but if you want to put a pyamid in it should be a step pyamid like those of the Aztec or the Maya as armadillios are found in the American Southwest, Mexico and Central America and not Egypt or anywhere in the old world.
