Tag As FavoriteComment		More Art Nouveau. God, I love that stuff. It was originally inspired by Japanese prints, and I wanted to go back to that original source. For some reason, painting this inspired me to go read haiku. There's some really elegant death poetry written by samurai and poets about to pass this mortal coil, even if 'Death poems/Are but delusion/Death is death.' as one of the grimmer samurai said. Of course, reading the poetry made me want to go do ANOTHER painting with autumn leaves as the floral part of the motif, so it's really a vicious cycle. Just say no to Art Nouveau, kids! (I did have fun with the little dragon under her feet though.) 13 x 28...I lose too much iris detail, but until everyone buys giant monitors, what can I do?
