I made this in ceramics class. The scales took FOREVER to do but I am extremely pleased at how it came out. The poor thing lost its tail and finger to the “Kiln Gods” as my teacher puts it.

It looks like it's being patted on the head by someone it likes ... its expression and the position of its ears remind me of my cat when I'm petting her head. Very cute! I'd like to meet a dragon like this.

O nice work! I must agree with the commenter before me. The scales was really worth it. I like the style, the clean lines and smooth curves and anatomy of the creature (dragon/wyrm/sea beast whatever) And the effect and color of the glacyr as well.

Excellent! Did you glaze this? the scales just make the whole thing come to life! *claps, then pauses a moment in silent rememberence* i have saddly lost portions of pieces to the "kiln gods" as well. but all is well. Great work!

1 Katie Lucci replies: "Thank you! Yes, their is colbalt underglaze then celidon glase over the top."

aww, it turned out soooo good, you never did show me when you glazed it, monkey. i really like how it looks scaley and smooth kinda like a Skink.

I really enjoy this sculpture. it looks as if it should be in a storefront window that sells glass-knic-knacs, ya know (hint hint). I especially like the marble, I think it helps emphasize the dragon's powerful presence. Again, hope ya don't mind if I forward to others!!!!

This is neat. Too bad about the tail. I don't really see any damage that might indicate a broken finger though. Overall, I like it.
