Dawn is a full time elf & part-time artist struggling in the big cruel world...hoping to break into the big time...one day.
 
 
 
I always painted and drawn 'odd' things, since the day I could pick up a pencil. Though my mother tried to discourage me, warning me that all artists 'starve to death in the gutter', she sent me to Pratt Institute to follow my dream of developing my talents. I graduated and am now, proud to say...'starving to death', but not in the gutter. I have always been inspired by Folklore, Faery Tales, Sci-Fi and fantasy books, Myths & legends and really good movies. I love Darke images and tales that involve dreams, time, mysticism and magic. Many of my art images come from images I get from stories I read or have written, from waking dreams, and the world around me. Right now I am attempting to bring my artwork into the Scary Realm of Publication, be it magazines, record or book covers, cards, or games. I've designed tattoos, jewelry, web pages, illustrated newsletters for non-profit groups & poetry magazines, but so far, no 'big fish' have bitten. If they do, I suppose I'll no longer be allowed to be a part of Elfwood, but until then...

I love it..!! As a wiccan this art emediatley rang close to my hart, its so delightfully wimsical and beautiful. I've been through many galleries on this site and yours was the first one I felt I just had to make a comment on..!

I love your art. You have so much talent. As I looked at your art I wondered if you have read a book called Tithe, it deals with faerys and unseelie court and the sealie court. Any way I Love your art.

Your artwork is amazing-- you haven’t updated in some time, it would seem, but I would love to see more! Your black and white pieces are just as fetching as your coloured ones. I would especially like to see more of your strange animal characters... They are strange and wonderful. ^_^
