SciFi and Fantasy Art Flying Giraffe: 2003 by Vanessa Skye Galloway

This was for my friend Michael in highschool who first introduced me to his friend the 'Flying Giraffe'. He would use it as a ploy to change the subject, like if I brought up something he didn't want to talk about, he'd say "OOh look! A flying giraffe!" He was an odd one :P When I finished it and showed it to him, he exclaimed, 'hahaha look how gleeful it is!!!' UPDATE: 1-23-03 shaBAM! Ooh look at that I acctually colored something! Horrah for me!

19 Apr 2006	Anonymous	Loading... I knew it was your artwork before seeing it on YTMND. How many flying giraffe pictures are on the internet? Type "flying giraffe" in google and see what I mean. That said, it of course is still your work, and it works awesomely with the misheard lyrics on YTMND. It makes my day every time I hear the song/see your image. Thanks for letting YTMND use it! Vanessa Skye Galloway replies: "I went ahead and searched google like you said, out of curiosity, and damn, the only other giraffe that actually has anything to do with flying is one thats cartooned into driving an airplane. Thank's for recognizing my work!"

10 Aug 2006	Anonymous	Loading... Like so many other people here, I found your site through YTMND, and I'm really glad that I did. Excellent work! And please, don't just think that you were cheap clip art. Based on the YTMND community's reaction to eBaum's World's theft of content without proper citation, rest assured that while those 100,000 viewers may never know the picture was done by you, the lack of citation reflected quite negatively on the creator of the YTMND. Thank you again for letting it return to the site!

The fact that so many people have found you and your artwork through another site helps illustrate the importance of proper citation of your sources. You wouldn't have this sort of support or recognition without that credit, which hopefully helps others see just why it is so necessary and not simply being greedy.
