I made this costume back in 2003 and never thought it would be appropriate for Elfwood.  But I got to looking around the other day and realized people upload pictures of themselves in fantasy costumes all the time!  I'm really excited to upload this now, because it’s very much the inspiration behind the only other gargoyle picture in my gallery.  In fact, that picture was created as a final design for the way I planned to make the costume look.

Couple of notes on this one:  I made the wings myself (pantyhose, wire, and glow-in-the-dark paint) along with the gloves, armlets (plastic Leather), and claws (papier-mâché).  The pants and shirt are both cropped winter-wear from a thrift store that I painted over with acrylic paint.  The boots were hand-me-down.  Tail made of old sweater material.  Horns were glow-in-the-dark from a Renfair.  And lastly:  THE FACE!  A lot of people see these pictures and think I'm wearing a mask.  I actually painted my face with acrylic paint (only recommended if you have cold cream on hand).  Sadly, the only fangs I could find were metallic, so in all the pictures they look black.  Still very very pleased with this costume though.

Note: pictures taken by my friend's dad and I have his permission to post.

*first comment cailey* - woooooooooow, the make up is amazing!!! Only acrylics?! That hurts if you wash it off, but it does such cool effects, too2!!! Hehe... I like the horns, the frizzy hair and the whole costume around it... Of course it's appropriate for elfwood, go girl2!!! You did a very nice job on this2!!!

Thanks for the comment!! 1"
