This guy is turning into a Werewolf via the full moon.  He's a naked guy because, you figure sooner or later he'd catch on to what happens during a full moon.  At regular intervals, the moon becomes full, and he transforms into a Werewolf in a process which involves his new prickly fur and increased tearing through whatever garments he happens to be wearing.  This results in much lose of clothing, and ultimately money, because he has to replace all of those clothes. Well, the moon has predictable cycles, so unless the man were a complete idiot, he would eventually learn that everything would go much smoother if he would just get naked in advance, and thus he saves oodles of monies.
