These are fairy penguins! They're very happy to meet you! I was inspired to make my version of fairy penguins after viewing and favoriting Rebecca Zuckerman's fairy penguin piece that you can find in my favorites. Please check it out! All the flowers are native to New Zealand and Southern Australia where the real Fairy Penguins are from!

Yay!!! New stuff! I like this one. The flowers are gorgeous, and the fairy penguins are so cute! Well done!

42 Stephen "Werepenguin" Cauley replies: "Thans Robyn! I can't believe how fast this ticket went through. My last one took two weeks, this one took eight hours 2 Thanks for stopping by again!"

The red flower looks like it's moving. But that gives an interesting dynamic to the picture, an over all movement that's nice to look at. And this has a nice "hand-painted" look, more handmade than a peice of slick CG art.

36 Stephen "Werepenguin" Cauley replies: "Thanks John! Yes, the painterly effect is the only benefit out of my smudgey existence 2 Unfortunately it also renders my stuff fuzzy and not clear. But I really do appreciate the compliment! I had a little more time to hone my scenery smudging as I've been making smudgey background pics a lot longer than smudging the focused centerpiece of a pic! Maybe it's about time I found a tutor so that I may advance. I still don't know what layers are and how to use them, but I feel that they may help me immensly in some way 2"

Awww, they're so CUTE! I wanna hug one. Can I get one for a pet? I think I'd name it... Humbledumble.

30 Stephen "Werepenguin" Cauley replies: "Thanks! And course you can have one! I have so many of em flying around here! Take two if you'd like!"

*first comment squishes the adoreable fairy penguins* Awww! I didn't notice their cute little lunamoth tails before! You and your penguins. 2

30 Stephen "Werepenguin" Cauley replies: "Haha thanks Glo! Yeah I loves me penguins! I got the idea for a fairy penguin from Rebecca Zuckerman, another artist here! Hers is even more adorable! I added my own flare to em of course, like the tails 2 Thank you so much for commenting on it! 2"

I really love your soft, colorful Fairy Penguins... makes me want to hug and squeeze them. This pic is right up my alley... with all the bright colors and whimsical character idea. I'll have to go take a look at the other picture too. Thanks for sharing the link! Smiles - Wendy

30 Stephen "Werepenguin" Cauley replies: "Thank you Wendy 2 This was my first time experimenting with such bright colors! I'm glad you like it 2 Colors always scare me, but as Barbara stated before, everything goes with black and white 2"
29 Nov 2007:-) Barbara J. Wickham
You, sir, have opened my eyes to a whole new world of penguin-ness and this enchanting pic is yet another joyful example of your brilliance with these fantastic, feathered wonders!

I really like that you've included the flowers since it gives a size reference and portrays these delightful birds as being very small and dainty, like butterflies. The cuteness factor just went up about 20 notches! *lol*

One other thing I have to mention is that the black and white coloring of penguins must make it much easier to pick colors for the background. I mean, they go with practically eeeeeeeeverything!

Unlike my wardrobe. *groan*

30 Stephen "Werepenguin" Cauley replies: "ee hee, you've learned a secret to my obsession! Yes! They go with everything! This practically makes it a cinch to place a penguin anywhere 2 Including on flowers. Another benefit to the monochromatic tones of a penguin's coat was when I made the wings here, I didn't think about color for one second. I just splotched some fairy like colors and voila! 2 Thanks so much for the comment!"

Ooh fairy penguins!!!! They are adorable! And they have grown nice tails and butterflywings. Penguins are evoluating ( is that an English word?).

:-) Stephen "Werepenguin" Cauley replies: "Thank you very much Saskia 2 And evoluating sounds fun! If is wasn’t an English word let’s make it one now! 2"
12 Apr 2008:-) Jake Phoenix Beasley
What’s going on? I have a look at it, but I can only see the top penguin.
And the term is evolving, Saskia. But I like evoluating too, 1

:-) Stephen "Werepenguin" Cauley replies: "Hmmm. Might be something wrong with the browser. There are three penguins. I hope it fixes soon, they like people seeing them 2"

soo cute!

:-) Stephen "Werepenguin" Cauley replies: "Thanks Liz! 2"

:-) Stephen "Werepenguin" Cauley replies: "Thanks! Yeah the flowers are purtiful 2"
