Hey, I'm new at the woods too. I think your doing great, my drawings started out very bad so don't worry about it. Anyhow I have a tip, what really helped me in getting body figures a bit better is drawing stick figures. Like making a cirlce for the head, a square for the tourso and so on, then drawing the skin outside of the lines and shapes. I know it sounds silly but it really does help! Once you get used to it it's kinda fun too, because you can make any pose you want! Also for the face, try looking at other people's faces and how they draw the lips, eyes, nose ect. I'm not saying to copy them, I'm just saying practice their style then it will help you make up your own unique style or styles2 I hope I helped you, if you have any questions just ask. I know some great websites that will give you awesome drawing tips! Welcome to Elfwood 2

:-) Victoria L. Gibbs replies: "Thanks soo much, that helps alot. I've been doing that lately, and my drawings do look better. I would like to know some sites that would help."

You're still young, so your style is still evolving. It's around this time you can start to fall into bad habits, with regards to proportion and perspective, I should know, I'm still trying to shake off some of mine. I think your bad habit is a tendency to give your people big lips, making them look like trout (I used to give mine tiny foreheads, it's all part of the learning process.) Your concepts are good, and for your age, I would place you above average. With the right blend of practise, tuition and guidance, I think your art would improve vastly in the coming years.

Ask your art teacher if they can give you a few pointers, and constructive criticism, and maybe even a little extra tuition in lunch hours. You could even email me or any of the other Elfwood artists for some tips and pointers, I'm sure most of us will be happy to give some friendly advise.

Keep practising, and perservering, I see great potential in your art work.

:-) Victoria L. Gibbs replies: "OMG! Thanks so much. I'm glad you think that my art has potiental. I would like to have any pointers that you have."

I'm 14 too, I'm pure self-taught, and I can do way better than you. I'm just waiting for a scanner... Haha sorry I'm just kidding(but that was TRUE), don't go angry, I just wanted to say that you DO have potential, but you need to follow the right way. And yeah, you do have to learn the right proportions of the body, even if you want another style.
I'm sure you'll do waaaayyy better after reading the tutorials!
