The promise always hung over his head
Bring no more life, but death instead
To gain the wings he so longed for
He turned against everything at his core
He so longed to be an angel of white
He’ll be a dark angel instead of knowing light
Ending lives where he was to begin
Releasing the blood from their skin
He so longed not to see the world of blood
The one he’s creating as the tears cause a flood
Tears mixed with blood sealed his fate
Trapped in this world he was forced to create
Will he ever get his longed for wings
To soar above any living things
He was an angel of light sent to create life
But with his promise he began a world of strife
Each death brings him closer to his goal
Closer to his wings with each condemned soul
The promise always hung over his head
Bring no more life, but death instead
To gain the wings he so longed for
He turned against everything at his core
Finally once he received his wings
He began to soar but saw only dead things
Realizing his murderous mistake
Seeing this world his heart began to ache
Quickly his dark wings were cut
The promise broken, the dark door shut
He gave up his bloody knife
Began again to create life
He realized his attempt was too late
Originally angel of light was his fate
He killed to gain his wings too fast
He created a dead world too vast
Now this world he can’t undo
He gave up more than he knew
Now he’s left grounded in a world of pain
With a dream he can’t attain

I like this one, really. It reminds me about one of my roleplaying characters whoo is a fallen angel. Reading it, I saw pictures in front of my inner eye, very inspiring!

This poem IS quite dark, but it shows what people actually do. They always look for a shortcut, and then they realize that its too late to return, and you cant get it back. Extremely deep and inspiring.

2 Victoria G. 'Vix' Olmstead replies: "Yes you’re right it is dark, but I’m glad you enjoyed it despite that. I look into human nature without the human aspect to it. Thanks for commenting."

I undestand him, he got what he wanted but couldn’t live with the price he paid to get it. U brought him closer to us. Nice work, sounds really good.

2 Victoria G. 'Vix' Olmstead replies: "Thanks, I’m quite glad you enjoyed it. I did a lot of work figuring out what would be the mindset and experience of such a setting."
