This is just something that came into mind and grew quickly. I think it stems from watching a flickering flame too long, but who says thats a bad thing?

Passing the flame hand to hand
He’s started so many fires across this land
He wasn’t a protector or considered a friend
Being their fierce demon he’d bring their end
Their keeper, their guardian, his lovely Rain
But their union had caused so much pain
Ending his love and the existing peace
Sadly their treaties, they had to release
He let go of his good part
When she was forced to leave his heart
Once they found elements weren’t to mix
Thus began the new conflicts
He and Rain were pulled apart
Forced to go against their heart
He was intent to destroy them
To his fire he would condemn
The world that kept him and Rain split
The world in which he never fit
Now he tossed another flame
Into an inferno no one would tame
Destroy the sadness he was condemned to
As he screamed “No, Rain, Not without you
The flame was licked and sputtered out
It was Rain’s doing without a doubt
Rain wouldn’t see this, her land burn
She smiled and said “sooner or later they’ll learn
We the elements won’t protect
This land that has shown such disrespect
No longer will we maintain your lives
For in this fire nothing survives

The people watched him and Rain
Decree their separation was in vain
The elements weren’t to mix
‘Cause that concoction may cause conflicts
The people realized this was a reverse
The elements mixing wasn’t a curse
Once they were split in separation
They thought only of annihilation
The world became such a harsh place
With sadness they could not erase
Passing the flame hand to hand
He looked down upon their land
Smiling he said, “I’m kinda glad they didn’t burn
You were right they did learn

Rain looked upon her flood
Pulling the petals off the last flower bud
Ha! Elements aren’t supposed to mix
What about their conflicts?

Walking off hand in hand
Stepping through the puddle of their land
