Tag As FavoriteComment		Basically just a fantasy-realistic facial study I did and ended up liking more than I thought I would. xD The poor girl has no name nor a backstory yet because I haven't been bothered to think them up.

This picture was painted in openCanvas 4.03 Plus. I use a Wacom Volito tablet. Completed in June 2006.

Great hair, and the shading's really well done. Is that a cut on her cheek? If so, I wonder how she got it....

The shading on her hair is beautifully done - I love the way it catches the light! The colours of this picture are really atmospheric!

I think the thing I like most about your gallery is your hair. you do such a fantastic job with it. Then the lighting and the limited palates you use. This one, i think, is the best of the lot. 2

You do portraits very well, this one together with ‘Driachim Dragonkeeper’ are my favourites in your gallery. Her hair is very realistic portrayed but the best thing about this painting is her beautiful eye, it’s so vivid and soulful.

that scar looks nasty - i bet it has a cool story behind it!I love the way you did the hair, every strand is visible. it always intruiges me how people manage it - do you jut build up loads of layers of strands, or what?

:-) Vilhelmina Ullemar Lönnbom replies: "It really does! O_o I don’t think I realized how nasty when I painted this - it’s too close to the eye to feel safe (supposing any scar ever does). And I don’t actually draw every strand, the bottom is just a flat colour, and then I work with big brushes at first making big "strands", then gradually smaller ones and only the last ones are really tiny. If I were to make every tiny strand one by one I’d be insane by now! (Or just paint more short-haired people!)"
