With respect to the piece itself, I am intrigued by the notion of something like an 'urban angel', watching over this part of town with whatever she can manage to find. While the caption seems to alter this notion somewhat, I feel that the two viewpoints are compatible. This 'sylph' is clearly fascinated by the eternally-changing face of the neighborhood, especially of the children who grow out of being able to see her, then being able to believe in her... | |
