I did this picture out of spite...no not really, I actually did it because I felt that sometimes fantasy and sci-fi are so intertwined that it is hard to separate them. Here I tried to depict a robotic child being called by the Fay. He, is the answer to the generations of lost myths, even though, being an automation, he is not programmed to understand such occurrences. Yet, as many children have amazed adults with their ability to understand parallel universes, he too, is afflicted with this gift. Here the Fay form the infinite circle, speaking the universal language of signs to the child.

I have always thought of fantasy and si fi oeacans apart. the eaisets way to explain it I think is that si fi longs for the future, while the fantasy longs for the past. It's more than that, but that is the eaisest way to explain it. But it is a cool picture non the less. I really like the robot child.

This reminds me so much of the short story "Teeting Ring" by James Causey. It's about a woman who is interviewed by an alien and is compensated for her time with items of her choice, while picking a prism is dropped and the baby picks it up and is just staring into it so she buys it for him. It's a device used to cube the IQ number.(It cubes the number) The baby spends all his time with this, staring, learning. The woman has no idea what's going on. The alien's superior approaches and takes away the prism but the baby is already superhuman at this point. Awaiting the day until he can take over the world.
Abstract conection I guess; facination with prism to fairies; enhanced baby to mechababy.

This reminds me of part of a song by metallica. The lines are; "wake up sleepy one...Its time to save your world"

How amazing! I love that it all works together. The faeries are amazing, as is the robotic child. You also did very well with the black and white idea, i would fail myserably if i even attempted! Very very well done!

I like the way you think. It is like a mix of evolution, ghost in the machine, nature will find a way and child not yet told what to think, that starts to figure it out on it’s own.
