Adzusa, Saemi, Tachiko. These three sisters were given the responsibility by the High Elder to watch over the growth of the baby dragons. Their job is to nurture them until they reach a certain prime age. They are to train the dragons to fight, teach them the ethics of the forest, and above all, discipline them to be loyal to the empire. Though, the sisters are often wrought with their own frustrations within the confines of the kingdom's authority and they are beginning to devise their own plans for the dragons. Plans, which do not adhere to the rules of the Emperor. In this picture, Adzusa, the eldest, with her sisters sing a song from the Nihongi. 'Like the Shitadami. Which creep around. The great rock. Of the Sea of Ice. Where blows the divine wind— Like the Shitadami. My boys! My Boys! We will creep around, And smite them utterly, And smite them utterly.'

Ooo, how interesting looking dragons! They look very much like the real dragon...tiny and very lizard-like. Heheh, they are very cute little things. Wonderful picture, very soft and quite unique really. Good intro to the picture too. =)

Your artwork is great! Reminds me of traditional art, rather than the stuff you see all over elfwood(not that the other art is bad2 Yours has a really nice/refreshing feel to it.
There's one thing that really bothers me about this pic however, the girl in front has a line that looks like it's coming out of her mouth-but I assume it's just a line on her clothes? It's very distracting, imo. If I were you I would have moved it to the side, and let a white space outline her mouth.

:-) Jessica Voigt replies: "that is an excellent point, I did not even notice that...I am going to back and fix that...thanks. It is amazing the things one does not notice about their own artwork, because they have been staring at it for so long. "

Yet another intriguing concept coupled with an excellent illustration.

Very nice ^^ I like the Japanese-style dressing (are they supposed to look like kimonos? ^^) and the unique baby dragons... as the person above stated, the look very real and lizard-like. And the guy in the front is cute ^~

:-) Jessica Voigt replies: "yes they are suppose to look like kimonos 2"

Wow, I have to say that your work is one of the more interesting and enjoyable works to see in this place. It's so different and new, its really awsome, keep up the good work.

I'm glad I came back to take another look at your gallery, otherwise I'd have missed this incredibly lovely piece. Your technique and the way you portray your subjects are so refreshing -- classic Elfwood fodder given a unique presentation. The little stories accompanying them add that extra bit that makes the whole very special.

:-) Jessica Voigt replies: "Thanks for the compliment...though...fodder?? doesnt that mean "crap"...which leads me to say...thanks, I think?"

Wonderful little dragons, and you have a great illustrative style.

This is beautiful. Each of the girls has a distinctive oriental look, and the costumes are just right. I can completely see this happening in China or Japan in some alternate universe! And the dragons are adorable.

I love the way you've portrayed this. I was certain it was a Mod's choice but when i looked around, that wonderful symbol wasn't there. This deffinitly deserves it. May I keep the dragon in the very front? He looks like he's laughing! Excellent job.

In my opinion they look to much like iguanas but other than that good job!
