It does mean something like "man-woman", I think because Tolkien was emphasizing her strength of will. The chin is fine (and coincidentally,used to show strength of personality. Hmm.) Her father-name was Altariel, given later at coming-of-age. Galadriel is the name she chose for herself. | |
