I know about the original vampire. It originated in slavic countries and spread to England. From there, people brought it across the ocean to the colonies. In the Americas, a vampire wasn't a charming aristocrat. It was a loathesome creature hailing from the foulest sewer in the pits of hell. A person who died of tuberculosis was often reported as being seen again once they were in the coffin. That, and the family dying because of TB's contagiousness, would prompt them into thinking that they were a vampire. because of the TB, they were depicted as bloated, pale creatures with extremely red lips and very long fingernails or claws.

I have hard that one of the first Vampires came from Ireland. Its sad that there was a wicked Clan Chief and one day his people decided to have him killed. They got a man from another Clan to kill him he did this and the wicked Chief was buried, A few days the later chief returned and demanded his clan to Slit there wrist so he could keep them alive and still feed on there blood. After a while they got the man who had killed him first to kill him agen. This time when they buried him they placed a rock over the burial sight. It was said that as they placed the rock a man cut him self and now if they moved the rock he will rise agen. The rock is still there.
