Here I tried to portray a patient Arwen waiting for the safe return of Aragorn. I really like the history of Aragorn and Arwen, besides being really romantic, I also find inspiring the dedication of Arwen for her love. Awaiting in silence and hope, knowing that whatever end will eventually bring her sorrow, and yet risking it all for a small chance of a brief bliss. Thats my concept of love, selfless giving. Her pose is based upon a famous neoclassical potrait, Madame Recamier, by Francois Gérard.

Beautiful! Great coloring, light, everything! A different kind of Arwen, but - I must say - the most beautiful picture of her I've ever seen... I wish I had your talent! Don't EVER stop doing what you do! I love it!

17 Billy Mosig replies: "Yeah, I like the idea of Arwen looking different from the way most illustrators depict her. After all, she is an elf, and as such, should look very different to everything we've ever seen. I don't know if my painting does that, but at least that was the intention hahaha. Sorry for the delayed reply!! I'll try to respond more often!"

THis is lovely. It has a classic look to it.

I was going to say it looked like it was a classical or neoclassical painting. Somehow it fits with elves.

Your technical skill is amazing. My only complaint is that the colors seem a little washed out.

:-) Billy Mosig replies: "Yeah, I like the idea of elves being very classical, not so much medieval. The ideal image of the greeks/romans is that they were very wise and esthetic, that is why I think it fits with the elves."

I love all the little deatils, like the flower in her hair, and the way the fabric of the gown flows. Did you mean for the gown to look like velvet? Because to the eye of this seamstress, it looks like a very realistic silk velvet. I almost want to pet it to see how soft it is!

:-) Billy Mosig replies: "I'm glad you noticed the details! I think you're the only person who's noticed the flowers. As for the dress, I wasn't going for any fabirc in particular, but it's cool because now that you mention it, the dress does look like it is made of velvet! Nice observation, thanks!!"

This is very lovely. I was wondering if there is a way to buy a print or somethign. I mean. I love it. Its the look in her eyes. That longing, that need. I understand that and well I just want to know if htere are prints.

22 Billy Mosig replies: "I'm really sorry, I don't have prints for any of my pictures. I guess I should get some prints of my work, it would be a good idea. Thank you for your comment, and I'm really glad you liked my painiting and understood the emotions I was trying to express. When I get a print for this painting, I'll let you know!"

The details and the colours are really good! I feel though that that pose mustn't be too comfortable though...;-) hehe.

Very beautiful! I love that look in her eyes, and she’s posed absolutely beautifully and perfectly. I’m not sure if you meant to do this, but I like the way her foot sort of curves like that =). And the dress is beautiful!

Truly beautiful. However, I can’t picture Arwen being that passive and helpless looking. She is a much more positive character. She would have spent her time doing helpful things, or at least weaving tapestries or something.
