The Lady of Shallot was condemned to live in a tower and never to look outide her window. She used a mirror to look into the outside world and then weaved the visions in cloth. Once, she saw Sir Lancelot on the mirror, and couldn't resist looking outside the window, and thus, she became doomed. She put herself aboard a boat, and the current carried her dead body to Camelot. This drawing was made with both pencil and mechanical pencil. I became inspired form a scultpure form a baroque italian artist Bernini.

Beautiful. The shading is superb, and I love the story behind it.

This is amazing! It reminds me of Pre-Raphaelite paintings. Am I right in thinking that "The Ecstasy of St. Teresa" was the sculpture by Bernini that inspired it?

I think her bodies bent in sort of a weird shape, but other wise its great!

Folds are your friends.

The folds look perfect. I also thought of Bernini’s Ecxtasy of St. Theresa when I saw this - before I read the description - but she doesn’t hold her hands like that so I looked further and found Blessed Ludovica Albertoni... So now I know what inspired you 2
