| 27 Dec 2003 | Annika L Robbins | Loading...Perhaps his favorite TV show has been canceled? Anyway, I love the picture, expecially all the little details. I've noticed that you always pay attention to the smallest things to make your art more real, more interesting. I love it. It reminds me, if I may say so, of Theoden of Rohan, with all the knots carved on his furniture and stitched on his stuff. Well done indeed. Jon Dixon replies: "That's it! That was my face when I heard that Futurama *and* Farscape were cancelled in the same week! Thanks for the lovely comment!" | |
| 6 Jan 2004 | Shiri Rae Kc Burdette | Loading...Thats kings for you... he looks lonely and bored... (ahh I once had a daughter, I once had a wife, I once had a court... I wonder what did with them!) great work on the embroidery all those patterns, I wish I was up to it- every time I try I get confused and frustrated Jon Dixon replies: "Thanks Shiri. I found a great book in a secondhand bookshop once which showed you how to create Celtic knot-work. It's one of my best references - shows you the patterns that you can use to create repeating knots. Once you've worked one out it's just a matter of repeating the pattern in your chosen direction. Though I'll admit it sometimes still confuses the hell out of me!" | |
| 9 Jan 2004 | Cristi Constantin *The DarkGlow* | Loading...Fantastic. The expression from King's face is incredible. Jon Dixon replies: "Thanks Christi!" | |
| 12 Jul 2005 | Megan Glasby-Baldwin | Loading...He's fantastic! He reminds me of the Lewis Chess figures (my mum has a replica set...) - they're all quite sad looking. Maybe his jester has done a bunk? (Although wouldn't most kings be happy about that? ~_^) Jon Dixon replies: "LOL!! Perhaps the jester has just begun his act, and the king is realising he's heard all the jokes before!" | |

"Destined to wear the jeweld crown of Aquillion, upon a troubled brow"
I guess that is true for most kings at one point or another. | |
