She was tiny, not much over four and a half feet high, her body thin and fragile-seeming, although there was a lean, implied athleticism in her as if she concealed within her small, spare frame a strength wholly disproportionate to her size. Her hands were large, long-boned, with strong, sensitive fingers, the knuckles scarred from sword-practice.

But it was her face which proclaimed her unhumanness most visibly. She had the high-cheekboned, enigmatic face of a cat, both feral and gentle at once. Her jaws and chin were prognathous but delicate, and the wide, expressive mouth revealed twin gleams of ivory at the corners where her canines projected slightly over her bottom lip. A small, flat, muzzle-like nose bore a scattering of freckles that disappeared into the dark feathering of hair along her jawline. The coarse, straight hair of her mane, the same tawny-brown as that on her arms and chest, was chopped short at her shoulders and hung in a thick, ragged fringe above emerald eyes, whiteless, slit-pupilled and lambent in the dusk. Despite the smile that came readily to her, in unguarded moments her glance flicked from side to side like that of a wary animal, as if she were used to, and expecting, ill-treatment, and her eyes held buried in their depths an old sadness like that of loss or long estrangement.

Resting on the rock next to her, within easy reach, a leather scabbard held a plain, unadorned shortsword, a fighter's weapon, its hilt worn smooth with use, and a heavy dagger rested on her left hip, supported by a leather belt. A small firestone glowed crimson in the hollow of her throat.'

Caeci Wolfsong again, this time painted digitally in Photoshop from a basic render in Poser. I was really trying to capture a clam and tranquil mood here, the wonderful light that comes from the last rays of sunlight at dusk here almost spotlighting the figure in the gloom of the woods.

27 Dec 2003	Donna Bond	Loading... I see why people are having problems with it. It isnt the thickness of the fur but the texture. It looks more like human pubic hair than actual cat fur. Maybe that was your intent. Again, good rendering. Jon Dixon replies: "Thank you, Donna. The intent weas indeed to make her texture look more like hair than 'fur' (see my other response above). I wanted a sort of 'half-way' transitional state between true furriness like a cat and our own (more or less) hairless selves."

28 Dec 2003	Allison J. Sebastian	Loading... I'm truly facinated by this picture. I've recently been trying to discover personally what beauty is. Now, personally, i hate hair on any other area of my body other then my head. But.. I'm amazed. This girl is so different from the atypical heroine, she seems the complete opposite. And yet, she's beautiful. Not in the same way. But.. Hm.. It's hard for me to grasp. I guess.. She just looks soo natural. Real. And yet still cute. Still attractive. She doesn't look manly or ugly. She's herself. And she's beautiful in that. My boyfriend told me once that girls are most beautiful when they are comfortable and sure of themselves. When they're happy. And she is. She's completely secure and happy because she's never been told that they way she looked was unnatural, it's just her. muses hehe so to the people who said that she needs to shave or that the hair doesn't look right: "back off. She is who she is. And she's beautiful that way. Don't try to make her conform to your standards." that said. I think i'm finished.. Hehe. Jon Dixon replies: "Thank you, Alassea, for your interesting and perceptive comments. I think your boyfriend is very wise, and IMHO he's absolutely right. Anyone and everyone can be beautiful - old, young, large, small, tall, short, black, white, smooth, furry... It's one of the great modern myths that beauty only comes in packages stamped 'Ken' and 'Barbie'. We are all so easily suckered into that myth by Hollywood and by corporate advertising that we tend to lose sight of the fact that it is a myth. And so many truly beautiful people live their lives in the shadow of self-consciousness and lack of self-esteem just because their beauty is of the unconventional kind... Anyway, thanks again and I'm glad you liked the picture!"

5 Oct 2004	Danielle Bible	Loading... Well, that's just pretty. I kinda like the way it looks like she had thick body hair rather than a pelt... It makes it look more realistic to me. Oh, and i really like the coloring in this as well. K'.. Think i'm done... Wouldn't want you to get a swelled head or anything=). Jon Dixon replies: "Thanks Danielle. I'll try not to. Ouch! Ouch! 12 Jul 2005	Madoka26	Loading... ...It kind of feels like you're just wondering through the woods and then you just..come upon her all of a sudden. O_O Or maybe that's just me. Anyways, I like her. She looks comfortable with herself, if that makes any sense. Jon Dixon replies: "It makes perfect sense. And you're quite right. She is wholly comfortable with who and what she is. I love it that you feel that you've just 'happened across' her. That's exactly the sort of peaceful, secluded moment I wanted to convey."
