After a long serch Thorgrim Thorgason had located the ancient fortress deep in the heart of the Rhus Mountains. The throne of his ancestors was at last rediscovered and the young dwarf would take the news of his momentous discovery back to his kin. But as he rested on the seat of power he suddenly realised why great-great -grandpa had ordered the evacuation of the fortress. A half remembered memory came rushing into his mind as he watched a dark shadow cross the vaulted chamber... 'Oh yeah the dragon'. It always pays to do ones research when embarking on a quest! A remake of an older piece of mine which I had hidden away in the hope I could do a better job of it at a later date. And here is the result.

That is one well-lit and extremely ominous eyeball...

45 Dave Cripps replies: "Did you ever get the feeling you were being watched...."

Ooops!

Heh, nice detail with all those spiderwebs. And I love how that eye seems to be glowing. The dwarf looks appropriately petrified.

45 Dave Cripps replies: "That horrible moment of indecision when you think should I run or fight. Running is usually the best bet. That and hoping it diddn't see you."

Hey wooooooooow - i like that2!!! It's so weird and there are so many cool details to look at... Great stuff2!!! Also the floor - i am currently doing a drawing with such a floor... I'm drawing it since like ten tousand years... I just don't have the patience to sit down and finish it... *sigh*, so i really admire your patience...2!

45 Dave Cripps replies: "LOL I think there has been a job lot of those floors being installed in castles and dungeons around various worlds. Somewhere there is a very rich building with a large batch of black and white tiles.... I do hope you finish your picture and do tell me when you've finished and I'll come and have a look."
15 Mar 2008:-) Gabriel Alexander
kinda puts me in mind of the hobitt.

12 Dave Cripps replies: "The sneaking about under the dragons’ nose bit."

Well, the dragon, and the spiders, can’t exterminators do their job anymore?!

45 Dave Cripps replies: "I think the dragon ate the exterminators. That’s what you get when you hire cheep a halfling outfit instead of Olafs Hairy Dragon Removal Service."
22 Jun 2008:-) Jason robert bates
Hey! I work for a cheep hafling outfit. Not really, but I felt compelled to say that

45 Dave Cripps replies: "You mean you have a boss hard at work sleeping?
*Ahem* Doing some very serious sleeping for the company."
23 Jun 2008:-) Jason robert bates
Yes. He’s trying out pillows, to see which is softer it’s extra credit work for his other company. But.. in the tradition off halflings, the rest of us are smoking pipe-weed (the best of the SouthFarthing) and drinking fine Green Dragon ale, while our boss is hard at work

45 Dave Cripps replies: "Sounds like a real company. Not one of them ones that make you work like a dog all the time...."
22 Nov 2008:-) Carola Storz
Wonderful painting. I especially like the book in the left corner... 2

23 Dave Cripps replies: "OOPS! You’ve been lurking here since November?!

My apologies. *Gets down on knees*

The book is his journal. Nicely noted. Also the pen and ink pot. They must have been in his pocket since the backpack is unopened. Now what should he use for the dragon? The hammer or the sword? Or should you stay verrry still and hope the old dragon needs glasses?"
22 Mar 2009:-) Márcia Esperança
WOW... luv the emo pattern floor and the spider webs.
Hmm... is that a dragon’s eye?

45 Dave Cripps replies: "Don’t look at the floor tiles! RUN!"
17 May 2009:-) Renea D Reasoner
His expression is perfect 10

45 Dave Cripps replies: "It’s that split second of panic when you realise there was something you forgot. "
