Here we see some  colourful Narrowboats in the middle of Birmingham England. Gas Street Basin to be precise. The red boat is a cruiser that takes passengers past the sights nearby.

Birmingham is on a series of hills and to get to this basin the boats need to ascend a flight of locks. Which can be fascinating to watch as holiday makers cruise up to the old basin.

Can’t go wrong with boats and ships of any kind.

:-) Dave Cripps replies: "I liked the angles that the boats made. I might post a proper view to show off the basin."

You forgot to mention the pub you’re standing next too, the one that used to be a ’propper pub’ and now sells Guinness in plastic cups at four in the morning. Sing along now "...on Broad Street..."

:-) Dave Cripps replies: "Just for you I’ll put a pub on here."

Very nice shot- i like the brick bridge in the background too. Looks like a relaxing day trip- taking one of these colorful boats and ascending with the locks.1

:-) Dave Cripps replies: "Boring Mode: That bridge has some interesting marks. When the barges were towed by horse the ropes cut into the brickwork and it can still be seen today."
