But they made for amusing neighborhood stories. Late night hunters heard a plaintive voice in the small graveyard- a woman’s voice calling "Help-Help!" they spread the rumor the place was haunted. Turned out one of our birds had escaped and was perched 4o feet up in a pine tree!Impossible to see when they are in the trees.  Dave Cripps replies: "They do have a very strange cry almost like a child in pain. Spooky is not the word when you hear them and for a second you cant place the sound." | |
