Aha you've found me, well come in and keep your hands to yerself..
I am an artist/writer who would rather be doing this than my propper job as a graphic artist (gopher) at a printers.
I am getting better at figureative work, now they look almost human (HAH!!) I'm better at landscapes or townscapes where the figures can be 'hidden' in the painting. I also dabble in Sci-fi Spaceships & such. I love painting in acrylics and inks, oil, watercolour and drawing with pencil. And er.. er... yeah.... thats about it ...not very interesting actually.
[SQUID] [Thanks to Chris H. for the slightly unflattering picture of myself. He looks like the drummer from that band!]

The weather has finally cooled here and is quite nice, a bit chilly at night. Hmmm- a bit of chili might be tasty, with a burrito on the side... but I digress. Last night, Klingon the cat escaped, feeling a fine cool night to romp about , and so we had to leave the doors open- about 12 midnight, in walks a wild Javelina (our version of wild boar) into the kitchen, in search of a snack. I yelled at it, "Hyah pig! "and it wisely retreated from the kitchen. Now I have to decide if it was my Stentorian voice or my appearance that has the ability to frighten off wild hogs. I fear it is the latter. Klingon sallied back in about 4 A.M. Dave Cripps replies: "Not a big chap with a little moustosh are you. Haven’t got a little dog called Dogmatix? No? Well Obelix liked wild boar too. Surely if you call your cat Klingon then you have to learn some Klingon to call it back. Goch noch ne chock nee chach.... or something like that.
Still a bit crook as the Ausies say."
| 23 Oct 2009 | Tom Draco Noir Taylor | Loading...haHa! I like Obelix! Sorry, not nearly so handsome. We don’t get him here- rather culturally deprived we are. We do get "SpongeBob Squarepants" and other masterpieces of art and literature here, though. Excellent suggestion about learning some conversational Klingon- quite logical the cat won’t listen to us. Sorry to hear you are still a bit crook- hope you feel better soon. Always wanted to visit Down Under- imagine a country where nearly everything is poisonous! Simply wonderful! Even the world’s only venomous mammal- we only have rattlesnakes and scorpions and vampire bats, I am so envious. Dave Cripps replies: "SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS! SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS!.... etc
Actually I’ve seen a few imported cartoons and Old SpongeBob is much better 0
That is exactly why I will never get to Australia. Way too many little deadly creepy things... now New Zealand..."
| 24 Oct 2009 | John R Farley Jr | Loading...Asterisk and Obelisk? Like Tom said, all we have is Spongboob Barfpants. Dave Cripps replies: "Don’t underestimate SpongeBob. He’s like Top Cat only not based on Phill Silvers.
As long as it’s not that annoying one with the lab. But then Ren and Stimpy were nice and surreal."
| 25 Oct 2009 | NotDave But Chris | Loading...You make one little typo... Dave Cripps replies: "THis could be good..." | |
| 25 Oct 2009 | NotDave But Chris | Loading...Just spent 30 minutes pointing a camcorder at a frozen curry, I Still don’t see how "Remove packaging and film lid" helps to cook it? Dave Cripps replies: "Just as well it didn’t instruct you to fork it afterwards......
Appoloy not accepted Captain Cripps.... *Choke*"

| 30 Oct 2009 | John R Farley Jr | Loading...Come to Michigan. Our weather is wild, but it won’t wipe out your house. We have one poisonous snake and it’s a wimp, and we have a really scary-looking spider that just wants to build web-sites in your house, but won’t bother you otherwise. Dave Cripps replies: "Quick Google... Michigan... hang on all the mice have flick knives! Sounds dangerous! I’m sorry to have to say this folks but making your house out of wood in Tornado Alley is just a recipie for disaster. Good job someone at Storm Celler Dot Com sold a load of Storm Cellars. We have a snake like that but I recon it’s just an old Hippie. It’ll leave you alone if you don’t annoy it." | |
| 7 Nov 2009 | Shelby lynn barber | Loading...wow haha nice. Dave Cripps replies: "KK.. what’s nice I lost the plot.... again...." | |
| 8 Nov 2009 | John R Farley Jr | Loading...We seem to do that all over the world, we build in areas that are dangerous. Houses on mud-slide prone hills, entire cities in flood plains, and cheap mobile homes in an area known for frequent tornadoes. And then we wonder why our structures get blown to bits and washed away when the storms come. My favorite is when expensive homes are built right on the beach. And later a big storm waves blows it apart and washes it to sea. Then the home is rebuilt in the same cheap fashion inviting disaster again. Duh! | |
