SciFi and Fantasy Art Cain - mural by Wen Hsu

Alright...this is the biggest format I have *ever* worked in. A temporary mural I for our 'Semana Universitaria' festivities at our university. All I had was a morning, some buckets of common oil paint, a brush, some plywood and a lot of urgency. It's a photo, so I know the resolution is not that good, and to say the truth, I fail to judge this piece objectively because I'm pretty proud of it, since it's the first mural I've done in my life, and as a first I cannot help but smile, though I felt tiny by it (had to use a ladder and everything *s* yes, I was very excited) Done for the Law Faculty, as an allegory to the doubt on real existence of Justice - the offerings to the 'all truth' god created by the human being. This is the female icon for Cain (being on the left, devil's side. with other symbols: phoenix, serpent, fire, akame, thunder) offering sacrifice and there was and androgenous Abel on the right side with his. I think the point is clear *s* And there is this witch connotation to her, that who offered to Mother Earth instead than the heavens patriach.

26 Sep 2003	Matthew	Loading... all i can type is that i truly believe this is art. i would like to be able to see this everyday at the Louisville speed art museum.my eyes dont want to look away, i honestly can say this is one of the finer paintings i have come across in all my days. the darkness of the background with the flames and the way cain stands out is awsome. i get an evil vibe when i look at the face. i love it.. keep on with all your art work.. best wishes Wen Hsu
